Maximum ergonomy with optimum data display

In the Verify Module the interpreted data are displayed on the screen in a clear manner in a dynamic table mode alongside the digital document. This type of display permits ergonomic visual checking for errors. All forms are displayed and processed in the same mask.
 
Coloured field backgrounds facilitate and optimise the data-correction process, as they quickly establish the relationship between data and image. Validation of the recognised data is carried out in a comparison with master data which can be maintained and entered by the user. Plausibility checks recognise erroneous data and where necessary compare those data with the database. The capture of additional orders (laboratory processes) is as practicable as the import of master data and laboratory processes.

Highlights of the new Verify Module:

 Correction made easy

In the Verify Module, the captured data (text, label content, barcodes, plain writing) are entered into the respective correction fields and the associated Tiff image is displayed. The structure of the correction window is automatically adapted to the respective stored type of document. In the marking window, the marked requirement abbreviations are displayed and can be supplemented in the entry field located below them.

 Preferential processing of urgent orders (Cito)

ScanTools 8 automatically sorts incoming order in terms of priorities. Emergency slips (so-called Cito orders) are picked out and enjoy priority processing in the subsequent Interpreter and Verify modules. In this way, the fastest possible forwarding of data to the laboratory information system can be ensured.

 New: Rules management in the Verify Module

Using Rules Management, data flows can be controlled and modified as a function of the recognised data and errors and implausibilities can be identified and displayed in the Verify Module. In this way you can optimise erroneous orders which have been sent in and at the same time increase your own efficiency of data capture.

 Short and long capture

Using ScanTools 8, order capture can be configured for short or long capture. For short capture, all data required to start analysis are captured, such as order number, analyses, date of birth, sex. For long capture, all remaining order data are captured later. This type of capture speeds up order processing and effectively spreads peak loads.

 Image splitting in the Verify Module

In the new Module, the image area can be divided up into three different, freely scalable individual sub-areas. As a result, it is possible, for example, to capture and process patient data, deviating key numbers and sender data at a glance.

 Links to external locations

By linking external laboratory locations to the central form-capture system, additional locations can also profit from optimally automated data capture.

Because of the flexible structure of ScanTools 8 and the new type of communication server, it is now possible to carry out data correction at an even higher level of efficiency. As a result, implausible order forms can be forwarded directly to a digital revision box (Bad Box) or to a dedicated workplace for purposes of clarification and specification.

In addition, orders which have already been exported but which have been incorrectly captured can be recalled to the Verify Module and appropriately corrected. The convenient e-mail function in ScanTools 8 is also a highlight, the use of which enables scanned documents to be transmitted and revised in the internal and external laboratory networks without the necessity of accessing the original referral slip.
