What is the BVBG?
The BVBG is the Federal Association of Health Service Procurement Institutions in Germany e.V., an association that supports the activity of procurement situations in Germany to promote and optimise health care and health protection. The Association's aim is to improve and preserve the quality of patient safety, and to maintain and improve economic efficiency in the health service.
What is the BVBG Seal of Quality?
Two-way communication between the BVBG and its members, users and the industry is a precondition for implementing the initiative in real life. The BVBG's Seal of Quality for "Sustainable, partnership-based procurement" has created a knowledge, communications and information basis for all participants. The optimisation of business processes through accredited contractual partner companies has also been set in motion.
What must members (accredited companies or Seal of Quality partners) do?
Seal of Quality partners help to create economic benefits for suppliers, procurement companies and clinics, and thus for patients as well. The advantage of these benefits is appropriately shared between the participants.
Seal of Quality partners create and continuously implement a way of looking at the entire process that is both holistic and ethically oriented. This generates new opportunities for creative, intelligent, innovative solution strategies between suppliers, care-giving establishments and patients.
Seal of Quality partners support product and process efficiency improvement in the management of procurement. This avoids wastage, unnecessary process costs and the associated product price increases throughout the entire procurement process.
Seal of Quality partners improve patient safety and security by using exclusively modern, quality-tested, fairly priced, medically-required specialist articles, including medicines, investments and the provision of services.
Seal of Quality partners profit from the constant review and optimisation of core and key processes in the procurement management of collaborating companies.
What does Mediaform do?
As an accredited member and holder of the BVBG Seal of Quality, we conform to the Seal's requirements to the best possible standards through sustainable, partnership-based procurement.
The German Coalition for Patient Safety e.V. (APS), founded in April 2005, is a non-profit association that works to ensure safer healthcare. To this end, the APS devotes itself to the development, research and dissemination of suitable methods to guarantee health care.
The Coalition's work is determined by four ground rules:
1. Credibility through independence
2. Pooling specialist competences
3. From practice - for practice
4. Multidisciplinary practice
Various representatives of the medical and health professions joined forces in the APS to build a platform to improve patient safety and security in Germany. The Coalition's projects and initiatives are jointly supported by all the Coalition's members.
What does the programme of work by the APS look like?
The programme of work by the APS consists of a series of concrete projects that are being undertaken by the Coalition's multidisciplinary work groups. The various work groups publish these results in the form of recommendations for action which the APS makes available free of charge to all the establishments in the German healthcare system.
What does Mediaform contribute?
Mediaform, via its Medical Products Division, makes an active contribution to patient safety and security through an attractive portfolio that follows the recommendations of the APS. As market leader in the patient wristbands area, we consider that we have a duty to support the Coalition for Patient Safety. As a member of the Coalition, we present our work at events including those set up by the APS, for example the Patient Safety and Security Day.
